After careful observation, we uncovered seven key steps along the Home Buying Journey that every new homebuyer experiences. Some of the steps are naturally exciting – as you set out to purchase a new home, and others can seem overwhelming or stressful at first, such as completing paperwork and choosing from thousands of custom finishes. We promise to ensure that all steps are clearly laid out, that stressful moments are removed and that this journey is truly unique and personal to you. Let’s get started!
Daydreaming
Where it all begins. Perhaps your family is growing, or you’re looking to take the next step after renting – whichever it is, it’s time to buy a new home, and the idea of a fresh new home interests you. Welcome to the Daydreaming stage. We’ve created the perfect starting point for you to curate ideas, determine your style, and begin exploring.
First, you have the opportunity to Create an Account, which will allow you to save your favourite images from the Dream Hub, and floorplans from each community! Each item that you favourite will be saved to your account so that you can revisit it later, compare plans and narrow your search.
Ready for a little inspiration? Explore the Dream Hub where you’ll find the Inspiration Gallery, the Interior Design Gallery and the Exterior Colour Gallery. Jump into the Inspiration Gallery to explore a collection of images from our expertly designed model homes and past homes we’ve built to help you visualize each space. Visit the Interior Design Gallery to envision how you can utilize the finishes offered at Fusion Homes to achieve the interior design style you’re looking for. From Contemporary to Farmhouse, you can visualize your future kitchen, great room and ensuite. Wondering what view you’ll be driving up to each day? The Exterior Colour Gallery is where you can see our most popular homes in a range of exterior colour packages. Don’t forget to save these designs to your new account so you can easily share your vision with your Sales Professional!
The Hunt
After taking some time to discover what you like, it’s time to get familiar with the ins and outs of home buying. Reading this blog is a great start! But there’s so much more we want to share with you. Knowing everyone learns differently, we not only have blogs available, but also vlogs where you can listen to some of our people discuss certain steps of your journey.
All of our blogs and vlogs can be found in the Learning Centre. Here you’ll be greeted by an illustration and summary of the Home Buying Journey and each step along the way, as well as a variety of blogs with additional information about purchasing a Fusion Home.
The majority of our communities also have Model Homes that you can explore to see the finishes and upgrades first-hand. While you’re at the model home, visit the Presentation Centre and you’ll meet a Sales Professional who can answer your questions. Your Sales Professional is your guide through this process and have a wealth of information about the Home Buying Journey.
Finding The One
The search is on! With a variety of different home types and layouts to choose from – it’s time to find the home for you. Each community page allows you to filter effortlessly based on your top priorities, or simply scroll through all of the models to see what is available. See a model you like? Simply click the model to view the different elevations available and to view the floorplan. When you find one you like, don’t forget to save it my clicking the heart icon at the top right.
Also on the community page, you’ll find an Interactive Lot Map. This tool will allow you to see, in real-time, which lots are available, sold, or reserved. And that’s not all! Click on any of the available lots to see if your favourite floorplans can be built that lot, if it has premium lot features and which side your garage would be on.
Now that you know which models you like, check out the Interior Design and Exterior Colour Galleries and visualize how your designs can work with your favourite floorplans.
The Details
Congratulations! You’ve made your decision… a big decision. You may have heard that this time can be stressful – but it doesn’t need to be like that. You deserve to be excited, and it’s our job to guide you through all of The Details.
No need to worry about paperwork, if you wish, we can sign your papers electronically. And for easy reference, once your purchase is firm, your online account will change to a Homeowner’s Account where you can reference important documents like your Agreement of Purchase & Sale (APS).
After signing your paperwork, it’s time to determine the upgrades and finishes that will make your home yours. At Fusion Homes, we have thousands of custom options to choose from, but not to worry, our Sales Professionals are there to help you pick the best options for you. Plus! You can reference your favourite images from the Inspiration Hub in your account to narrow down what finishes to focus on.
Waiting
You daydreamed, you hunted, you found the one and made it your own – now what? Well, you can just wait until your home is built… but where’s the fun in that? This is your home, one of your biggest purchases, and we want you to be a part of the experience. Keep updated on the build of your home by following along in your online account. Here will be updating your personal home timeline with key stages of the build so you know when we’ve hit certain milestones of construction. Plus, when the time comes, you’ll be invited to tour your under-construction home.
This is also the time where you will meet your Customer Care Coordinator – your guide for the remainder of your journey. This is the person who will book your Pre-Delivery Inspections (PDIs), and help you with any questions that you may have after you move in.
Move In
Excitement overload! It’s almost time to Move In! We’re here to help you prepare to move with confidence. You can learn what to expect from your Digital Homeowner’s Manual, which can be found in your online account. This manual contains handy information about caring for your new home and gives you the ability to bookmark any articles you want to reference easily in the future. A lot of this information will also be reviewed at your PDI, by your Customer Care Coordinator or by your Sales Professional.

Living
Our role in your journey doesn’t end on moving day. We will continue to be there, answering any of your homeowning questions and providing maintenance resources, which can be found in your online account or on the blog. We can’t wait for you to start enjoying your home!
